First Paddleboarding Session of Summer 2017
SUMMER, IS THAT YOU?
Yesterday, the weather was so close to perfect, it would have been a shame if we didn’t take advantage of it. Last year, Matt & I bought paddleboards with the intention of essentially living on them as much as possible this Summer. Well apparently WA wants to play games & not give us any form of sun or warmth until halfway through May -_-
Anyways, yesterday was close to 80 degrees so you know we had to get out on the water! However, now we have some additional company to figure out: Jackson & Braxton. Unfortunately, Rocko is not an adventure dog so he won’t be joining us on our water extravaganzas but we intend to make a water dog out of Braxton. & he did not disappoint!!
Also, because it’s Washington, the water is cold. So I had no intentions of taking Jackson physically in the water. I wasn’t even sure if I wanted to take him out on the board because I left his new life jacket at the house. However, once I got out there & felt how calm the water was, I couldn’t help it.
It was like a little version of heaven to be out on the water with Jackson in my lap. He was so calm & just stared up at me while I was paddling. I sat the entire time – I don’t think I’ll be standing up at all if I have him on the board with me but I honestly don’t need to. The water didn’t come on the board so J didn’t get wet but we did use these cloth swim diapers just in case something did happen (thanks Rocky!).
